IBSA @ Prayer ~ Update on Allen Mashburn, former IBSA Staff Member

Allen is scheduled to have his 2nd surgery. A plastic surgeon will do a skin graft to wrap his leg and cover the wounded area. We are continually amazed at God's goodness in answer to prayer. So we are praying in faith believing God can lead the surgeon successfully tomorrow.

It has been a very long ordeal but after tomorrow Allen will remain another 7 days at the Northwestern Medical Center and then moved back to Provena Hopital in Urbana for intensive therapy. It will be great for him and Jeannie to be back together again. One of our church members drove Jeannie up to see Allen on Wednesday. It was very encouraging for both of them to be together for a day. Jeannie complete another chemo treatment this week and has only 3 remaining. PTL! As Allen regularly says, "God is good all the time." He truly is a man of Faith. Thank you for sharing their struggles through prayer. They feel your prayers. And I am grateful that you are God's army carrying the Mashberns' burdens. May God show you special kindness and blessings on your families and ministries. Pastor Mike Wilder

Jeannie called to let us know that Allen's surgery was successful with no complications. He will not have to be in the ICU tonight but will go back to his room. All systems are now a "go" for him to spend the next week in recovery and hopefully then to come back to Champaign for therapy. Thank so much for your continuous prayer efforts in his behalf. We need you to be diligent to ask God's blessings and protection until he his healed. Pastor Mike Wilder

Allen was in good spirit today when I spoke with him. His skin graft is mostly healing, but a section has died and been removed exposing the muscle and tissue. As of yet the Dr had not let him know what is next. It has been discouraging to lay in the hospital all this time and still no clear answers as to when he may be coming home. He was supposed to begin therapy but that has been on hold. I'm sure his days are long. But his attitude remains one of faith and optimism. He has a truly profound faith in our Lord. Jeannie completed her chemo treatment this past Tuesday leaving only two remaining. She should be finished with them before Allen comes home. She is gaining strength and stamina which will be God's blessing for her to help Allen when he does arrive home. Pray for them both as the long time apart is difficult. Pray that the Dr. will inform them soon as to the next step. Pray for Allen to be able to start therapy. His muscles have atrophied laying in bed for these many weeks.

Many blessings. Pastor Mike Wilder
